I Don’t Believe It !!!!

Sunday 18th June 2006 at Lee on the Solent Sailing Club. This was a GP14
Open Regatta when along came this idiot steaming straight through the
fleet. Not only GP14's but also Lasers and other Dinghies. Comments on a
Postcard please.....

There's always one eh?

As webmaster of our sailing club website, I have the dubious honour to be the first recipient of various strange e-mails. On Sunday 11th June, 2 powerboats cut through the race at speed, capsized 2 boats in their wake and came to anchor near the beach, still within the boundaries of the race. Needless to say they weren't popular, especially when young children started to swim from the boat to the leeward mark and back.

A few days later, I received a mind-blowing email containing a string of complaints about the behaviour and the colourful language or some of our members. Here's a sample:

on returning to our home port, whilst we respect that motor gives way to sail, one of your dingys  with 2 males on board turns 180 degrees round one of your orange bouys, 45 - 50 metres away, started waving his fist and shouting abuse (even though we had changed course to avoid any possibility of a collision) unfortunatly, by now my husband had had enough of this abuse and returned a few unplesantrys!  You must realise it is unrealistic to go behind a sailing vessel that has completly changed course.

I've left the spelling mistakes intact, for added entertainment.

 

 

Why, oh why, can't they go somewhere else? Not too far....
