The slow yacht class in our yacht club's open winter series was won by a boat helmed by an 82 year old.  The Sonata that won the white fleet at Cowes a couple of years ago came 6th.....

I can't think of any sport that covers such a range of age, physical ability, and general ability as sailing.  Can you?

Frank Dye is still sailing his wayfarer round the coast of the great lakes, and he's almost 80! He did the US intracoastal waterway recently as well.

in Scotland in their late sixties.
