Just a total guess, but do you think it might be an Omega? (but not the Topper one!) Edited by Jalani |

The only reference I can find on the net,is the Topper Omega, which this one is not. Where can I find more information on this particular one? This one is quite old and it was built in Cape Town. Hasnt't been in the water for at least 10 years.

The same question was asked via the DSM forum, for those who are intersted/intrigued, here's the answer that was posted on there by Ian, regards Webmuppet "Going by the sail insignia the boat appears to be an Omega dinghy.

![]() Hi I'm another newbie looking for help in similar vein. I've bought this 14' foot grp dinghy, and I'm trying to figure out what it is. I initially thought it was a GP14, but I now don't think it is. I've not posted images of the sails because they are not original, according to the previous owner they were bought second hand. I think they may have come from an Albacore, but I'm also sure it's not an Albacore because they're 15' long. Any suggestions will be greatfully received. Thanks Martyn |

Thanks Strawberry,
Unfortunately I think not though. Having looked at http://www.leaderdinghy.org.uk/ the Leader has a seat / ledge running laterally across the transom, also there are angular (Sorry, my sailing terminology still leaves a lot to be desired) edges running along the sides, where as mine are rounded with no corners. Noble marine has a usefull web page http://www.noblemarine.co.uk/dinghydatabase.php3?similarto=L eader&orderby=length&sort=DESC that allows you to sort a range of dinghies by length. It doesn't seem to cover mine though, but has allowed me to eliminate Scorpion and Wanderer along with GP14 I had already discounted. |
