Better than the small rig! Pointing is better and the boat seems to more positive and "balanced" - although this is probably due to my unique sailing ability! Sold my old rig and got the money back so a good deal all round. The rule change is the first ever for this class - truely a strict one design and that what makes it attractive on my part - other than the boat being such a blast to sail. Rich |

70kg might be a struggle in a Phantom unless your friends pond sailing... Edited by DiscoBall |

Yes, I really noticed the "B" rig pointed better. It was a shame, cos the small rig was so much easier to sail, and I would've done as well with it if I could've pointed OK. As for the one designness (if I can invent a word!) I have been truly amazed at the vitriol and unpleasantness in the Solo clas as they struggle to cope with modern materials (i.e. FRP). It is a good arguament for the modern designs, SMOD or not! |

I cant wait to get my phantom picking it up soon. I too tried the blaze but found my knees getting bruised from the rack? It may have just been me. Get the X if you do opt for this!
There do see to be a few International Canoes on the market at the moment, Try one it is the best fun on the water and not as in and outty as say a 600 or a moth! |
