It is set to "Newbie", 0 posts, when the account is created. It has nothing to do with how long you've been hanging around SA on the old forum or anything. It only reflects how active you have been since the new forum opened. It appear you have to make 10 posts to be a "Member" and 30 to make it to "Advanced Member". Nothing is known beyond that...how many posts until you have a "Special Member" or "Super Member"  .Post like you usually do, your rating will change. Li'l Dawg is definitely not a Newbie!

Here is the system for the stars, it is according to the number of posts. So you now know how many comments you have to make to get more!
