oh dear, so sorry about the lack of courtesy and restraint old chaps, would u really prefer it if all i did was say, "bang on old bean my view exactly" it is annoying people like me that create tension and heated argument, producing interest in the forum.

aside from my attitude problem, thanks for all the advice about getting a boat and stuff.

and redback, i have sailed, in a wayfarer world, which was quite fun, while practising rudderless-which i suck at- i could jump up and down on the gunwales without a trapeze, great fun! but none of my sailing really counts since it is mostly just showing level ones how to tack and stuff, i sail so much at the centre that the staff just treat me as a peice of the furniture there.

why don't you take your instructors cert and join the staff, that way you will probably get more use of different classes.

you don't have to be 16 to be an assistant instructor and that
would get you out on the water

For a dinghy or windsurfing instructor the're a vital tool! From the RYA website

Course Type :     POWERBOAT, Adult & Junior Course
Suggested minimum pre-course experience :     None. May be preceded by Level 1
Assumed Knowledge :     None. Minimum age 12. Candidates under the age of 16 will be issued an endorsed certifcate.
Course Content :     All you need to know for self-sufficient poweboating at a basic level. Course includes launching, mooring, anchoring and recovery plus all the boat driving skills required for basic competence in a powerboat.
Ability After Course :     Self-sufficient powerboat in the right conditions: aware of own limitations and those of craft.

You might also find that clubs and insurance companies put restrictions on use for those under 16.
