Does anyone know of any form of job/jobs that involves sailing or within the sailing enviroment such as for chandlery's in the South West region?

I'm sick of the the complete planks that I work with.

Well there is Wet and Windy just off Winterstoke Road in Bristol, there are several boat builders in the marinas in bristol (The Co-op company, IC Composites and David Abels), and there is Boat Repair Centre in Kenn, Clevedon. I think there is a chandlery on St. Andrews Road, Bristol and there is also force 4 Chandlery in Hanover Place!!!! Asleep yet?!!!!

If you go on www.boatsandoutboards.com they have a long list of chandlers and schools that might be near you too!!

Hi Olly 4088,

You don't say what qualifications you have or exactly what you want to do. You could consider going on a course at such a place as the Boatbuilding Academy at Lyme Regis where you could pick up some skills and qualifications and maybe make some contacts.   Take a look at:

http://www.boatbuildingacademy.com/

You could also consider working for a sail maker.

There are also several smaller builders down that way.

CPC Boatworks, Gosling Dinghycraft and specialised marine (Chris Turner) are 3 that spring to mind. May be worth looking for them. They are all around the Exeter/Lyme Bay area I believe.

Regards,

Paul
