..........That's not the worst of it, crew lands on new dagger board of 49er, breaks a rib and snaps new daggerboard......... costs helm £  , and brings insurance premium up to more than the daggerboard was worth plus original preium. S , F ,No!. Thank god we've not done anything stupid this season.........

Was quite windy down here today, went out with a cracking hangover (awesome party last night) in the moth for the first time since i got my new rudder.
Hooned across the lake, white water reaching at roughly mach 10, cut right through the hordes of team racing fireflies, dodged a couple of lasers and bore away. I stood up as I came in off the tramp and at that moment got hit by a mother of a gust (should have been watching I know...) boat shot forward from under me, lost my balance (propper cartoon banana-skin stylee) and landed on the tiller. that'll be another couple hundred quids worth of carbon then...

God I love development classes..

Pierre,

Was it similar to the 'black cab' effect....your boat got away with nothing to speak of the Laser 3000 was a bit of a mess (although the Laser 3ks are solidly built apparently).....

Paul

Yes the 3K's are well built, and the bloody great bang made me jump, but he ended up with a bent and very retracted sprit along with crew winding their way round the mast on the wire.

Shouldn't have happened I know, but there you go.  There I was apologising for being on starboard, and they just sat there in stunned silence and never said a word!  Hey hey, the joys of non contact sport
