I'm not sure if I'll be down on sunday jp, I'll see, need to practice for my driving test! I'll probs be down next weekend though. Are you playing rugby on saturday or watching? I used to play, think I'm gonna end up sailing instead now!
I'll see if I can try out some of the boats down at Chew this weekend, I think there's some racing going on though. I just hope Wildwind still sell the 800s cheap
Think I'm going to be in Scotland when the worlds are on next year for the 505s, gotta work in return for doing my SI course! They do look like awesome boats to sail, but I'd ideally like a twin trapeze boat. I'll definitely have a look at them if I can find one.

Forget 800's 5000's 29ers get a 505.No seriously! you can get a half decent 505 for about a grand.OK it might not be as new as a 4000,or 800 but for that you will be getting a hell of a lot of boat for your money. There will probably be a few sets of sails with it and it'll be great fun.Plus with the worlds in hayling island next year you've no excuse.England expects!!!

If you are talking to Wildwind, their RS800's are always good 2nd hand buys, as nobody ever sails them out in Vass, preffering instead to sail, sailings equivalent of bikes with stabalisers (cats). I was out in Vass for the last wk of the season last yr and the 800 was almost just out of the wrapper and it was 1yr old.
Before you commit get someone to let you have a go in all the classes your considering or you might regret your decision, as we all tend to like the boats we've got regardless of their quirks.

Cheers craiggo, I guess really I need to try them both out but that's a little tricky! Do you know how they compare in terms of maintenance costs? Could be pretty important! I'm waiting to hear back from wilwind, they're selling off some boats and I've asked for prices. Been told I may be able to get a loan from parents if what I want comes up at a good price! I'm guessing being ex-centre boats they'll be at good prices (here's hoping, anyway!). Sounds like I'm gonna need a rota or something to organise who my crew'll be  , think france asked first! jp are you gonna be down on saturday? I'm hoping to get down then, but my laser's at home at the moment! I put that ad up before I knew I was going to be moving house for definite, gonna be leaving in a month  but i'll hopefully be back this time next year.

i have seen quite a few 800's at chew and only 1-2 9ers, i have also only seen 3-4 L4000's.

If ur looking for class compation at chew in the 800 but if ur looking for fun the 49er or just for a laugh and some comp the L4k

i personaly wouldnt mind u having any of them cus their all fast and i can have a good go in 1    if im lucky
