There are more old and pretty much free to a good home boats around than there are people who want them. Generally, they need a lot of work and constant upkeep, so youth groups don't want them. Looked good fun, to me, and the boat didn't really look in any worse condition after the filming.

Whats that? A bunch of banal Americans smashing up a perfectly good dinghy to make a youtube clip....oh yer hilarious, I imagine all the youth organisations who struggle to afford boats to teach Kids in will be wetting themselves. |

it's inspired, the addition of the Tiswas geezer in the all-black gear = genius! this would be far more interesting at next years dinghy show = RYA take note, just introduce the Guiness tent to the Dinghy Show then station the pool with crappy LII next to it and we're off! (live webcam would be even better!) |

Well it was doing a lot of leaping, kind of reminded me of a Dolphin!
I think next year will be the earliest for the Mirror circuit. We need to find him a crew. And he needs a bit more time in the boat. As he is much more confident in his Oppy I think we'll build his skills up there and get the club racing going in the Mirror before taking to the road. But it's on the horizon for sure. |

HannahJ.... as your Mirrors call "Dolphin" I thought you might like this...
link by the way thanks for the advice on the Mirror a while back. My little'n is really enjoying sailing our Mirror. Out on 20kts + in Cornwall the other week with him helming a cracking 3 sailer. That'll be only the second time he's sailed with a kite up! |
