for your budget you could get a decent wooden fireball (including a wooden Winder),  but you should also be able to get a composite severn sailboats fireball for around £1500
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

FIre ball seems to cope well with all types of people and can sail well on lakes (well our ones seem to cope ok on their handicap)
And im not too sure how hard it is to get hold of good boats but I know that there was aparently one for sail at my club which wasnt too expensive.

Since you sail on a lake do consider that (unless it is a very big lake) it would be difficult to sail up to your handicap.

How heavy is your crew? There are Cherub sailors here who could comment better than me but 14st  sounds heavy for a Cherub. I don't know much about the Buzz but understand it to be a lightweight's boat. Sorry but 14st isn't lightweight. I wouldn't consider a Spice if you would be the only one at your club. You need class racing, feedback and help from others in the same class to improve. That leaves the Fireball as the one from your list left standing, and a very good class it is too. And I don't even sail one, so that is objective advice.

Whatever has class racing at your local lake. Having the only boat in its class at a club is a waste of time.

I am a 16 year old who is 14stone and 5"11 and i want a boat for sailing inland on my local lake!My budget is around 1000-1500 pounds.I first looked at a fireball and then a cherub. After finding that a modern boat from eiter class thaqt fits into my budget is near impossible that doesnt need a spinny conversion of other work i looked at the more modern classes! I have been looking at a spice? Which boat do you lot recon would be best for me? i would like either a fireball, spice, cherub or buzz! i am almost an instructor so there is no probs about wether i can handle the boat or not and i have a commited crew lined up. SO WHAT BOAT?
