Can anyone determine if the MPS was in the wrong as well? The one coming upwind should of tacked earlier than that if he had any common sense! If he needs shooting can u pls tell me what u would of done in that situation?

I was not too far away as it happened, Musto 175 was going upwind on port and had no rights, the 14 coming down on starboard and I think had to keep out of the way of 169 going upwind on starboard (but i cant remember if he started off like that or had tacked), I'm not sure if the 14 did turns but there was a photo (and i cant see it online) of the 14 afterwards going full tilt downwind looking a bit guilty.  It made for interesting conversation in the bar at least.

Yeh thats what i thought - mps 175, definetly should of tacked before that - personally i feel that throwing yourself in front of a fully heated up 14 is an interesting idea!

if mps 169 had tacked then that changes it a bit but really 175 should of tacked alot earlier - in other words its not totally the 14s fault - the only other option i can see is if the 14 had headed up to go above (which isnt really an option with over 300sqft of kite up) or gybed earlier - however i wasnt there so i dnt know the circumstances!

I bet there was interesting talk in the bar afterwards!!!

Surely this is photo of the day today! The British team of Peter Barton, Martin Borrett and Ian Turnbull out at the Sardinia skiff event. This is the kind of day you come back smiling from...
