You could both get 600's like me and my brother did and it will soon become very competative but most importantly a good laugh.

Otherwise a 800 would be a good choice, if your interested my friend is selling his (number 1001) for £4,500 with a unused main still wrapped and plenty of spares! PM me if your interested.

Mark.

Ken,

The 800 would be a great boat for you and your crew. It shouldnt take too long to get the knack of trapezing, and I think there are a few on the scottish skiff cicuit, so some competition.

My friend and I, are looking to break free from our boaring old Lasers and move to something a little more exiting. We're both 16 years old, I weigh about 70kg's and I'm 170cm tall. My crew is roughly the same.

I currently sail my laser at squad level, but have sailed plenty of other boats (RS 400, Laser 4000 ect.) However i only have limited trapezing experience. My crew is great out on the wire, having crewed a 4000 for a number of years.

we will be sailing the boat on coastal waters. From the sale of our lasers, I dont think money will be much of a problem, we should have at least 6000 between us.

We live in scotland, so there's not really much of an 800 fleet. However the scottish skiff series, should keep us entertained.

Is the 800 the right boat for us?

I know somebody is gona say Cherub, but I don't want to spend the rest of my life in the garage repairing it!

Other suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
