Hi I'm after a new harness to go Cherubbing in as I don't like the way my old harness comes undone, snags on everything and weighs a ton. I've narrowed it down to... Banks Skiff Pro (favorite at the mo) P&B made to measure RMW Rush Banks Radial Gill Skiff I'd really appreciate any feedback anyone has on these harnesses (and that is from people who have actually used them!!) before I order. I have to say I like the look of the Banks one as it it won't get too grubby and have had good reports from some 49er sailors at my club. I do quite like the RMW one too, but with my yellow Cherub with kevlar sails, black racks and big yellow kite I don't want to be accused of being a Greenhalgh wannabe!! Has anyone tried the new Gill one? It looks comfy but looks a little bit strappy and complicated for my liking. Also, if I go for the QRH option, has anyone got any preferences over the RWO or SeaSure system? Cheers in advance, Iain |

I'd recommend a bespoke made one. As long as you don't intend putting
on any weight. And then it's down to how good you think the fitting / measurement info and manufacture are. I've got a Batt one. Which would of been great if it wasn't a little bit to small and the webbing strap was longer. ![]() matter what the guy in the shop tells you, even if you have the cover up velco panels that make everything flush, it will still catch on something. One of the joys of a really short boat in which most of it is foredeck! So i still use the Batt one even though I have to do an impression of an eel getting in and out. ![]() |

The Banks radial works for me for comfort and low snag factor, but with the caveat that the stitching on the white panels falls off as son as it goes near the aggressive nonslip on Halo's floor. Banks have promised to take a look at it and redo it, but I haven't had a chance to drop it off there.

I would definatly say a P&B made to measure, they come with the RWO quick release hook which you have to have next year if you want to race. There really comfortable, durable and very light.

You don't need a quick release hook.
They are just banning the little rubber thing which holds the hook onto the ring. |

Where did you get that information from? I have looked at the ISAF site but they have not yet published the minutes of the meeting where this was being discussed. Do you have an contact on the inside? |

For my 2p (and having used one a fair bit...)
I would go for the P&B made to measure. A little awkward to get in and out of but it's the only harness I have used and felt comfy in all day! Have you finally got your Cherub afloat the Ian? Last time I saw you there was some experimentation with and RS700 mast I believe..... Regards, Paul |

Where does it say that the RWO quick releise hook complies with ISAF rule? |
|
If it doesn't break it's too heavy; if it does it wasn't built right
