Yeah, 30 knots is 3000 weather. I've had FS out in 30 though.

The wind is never constant. So it hops above 30 and below 30.
The 3000 is a tank and it wont break. My Cherub dosn't have much more rag than the 3000 and it is much wider, so technically I should be able to sail it in more wind than the 3K but in reality it is much harder to sail than a 3000! |

,,,,oh dear, a pi***ng competition Can't speak for the V300 but the L2 is reasonable (not brilliant) in the light stuff also and will do well in club races if sailed Well Edited by GK.LaserII |

The laser 2 is good fun. I was thinking of buying a cheap one but I already have the ultimate pole boat

I think I can guess what you were going to say

Back on topic. The 3K is a very forgiving and won't bite
your head off for mistakes. It is easy to right from a capsize. It will almost certainly
never fail on you, requires next to no maintenance, the sails last for years
and it offers a decent ride downwind (when the wind is up). Perfect for novice trapezes
and crews and perfect for learning how to helm asymmetric boats. The only issue
you might have is that it sits so low in the water, it might not be very pleasant
in the infamous Solant chop. I would think that you would get thrown about a
bit due to its relatively flat bottom, but its all part of the fun! Edited by Ross |

t was pretty on off, definitely not constant but it was windier than it was at the Tiger this year .(I can compare with that since it was at Rutland!). We did capsize a few times, but it is forgiving, easy (ish) to recover, but obviously like any boat it does get harder and more tiring when its windier! We stayed out for about an hour and we were knackered and scared it would brake It is I think a perfect boat for novice's to trapeze / assays |
