The rules have change a lot of the years as to what size rigs you can carry and 15.5m2 upwind sail area between main and jib and 37.5m2 downwind sail area helps the cherub carry a little more weight not saying having more weight is going to be faster but it can carry some weight depend son the conditions though |

Kite 38 and a bit on 49er, upwind 21. something or other.. Wierd how there is such a performance difference! Not much of one for the technical go quickly stuff apart from the basics with sail controls..

that has never stopped me! still wont have once the boats have gone...anyways 800s look good never sailed one so cant comment, was fun watching then sail past while i was upsidedown tho  Edited by ratface |

I think the 800 is a
great boat, no other boat out there makes that kind of performance so
accessible. A fast boat that doesn't make you worry about being eaten
alive every time the wind gets over a F4 or your are out of practice
certainly has it's place and it does feel quite refined, especially
upwind.14s and 49ers can be a bit much in some breeze, with a steep
learning curve.
Is it the fastest boat out there? No. Even a 1990s 14 is still going to paste it downwind. Is it meant to be? No. It's a good boat for what it is designed to be. |

They are unlimited but there is only so much cloth you can put in between the gap and still have a good shape!
Guys, get this theory of 25k plus out of your heads! A 14 that cost sub 10k is on the pace! A morrison 11- well sorted beiker 3 are more than a match for new ones! A morrison 12 is on the pace and are selling for about 7k ish. Which is a lot of performance for your money! Cheers, alex |
