fine 2 pounds, 2 hundred, 2 grand??

Like I said earlier its not been expensive so far, easy to pick up a competitive boat for £6 - 7 I got a great deal on mine for what it is, and I haven't had problems with breakages yet, and I should have had my fair share with how I have handled it in some slightly windier than I though conditions

Think it is a myth to put people off..

Apolloduck or the UK class association forum (which has been down for 3 weeks!)

If you don't want a competitive boat I have seen £3.5 grand ones... not that bad.

OO sorry I forgot to put grand . Just realised. For £6 - 7 you might get a really cheap naff toy

I don't know how everybody else looks at money, but £6-7k is a lot!

£6-7k on a boat that is going to be out of date next year is loads of money! A 6k 49er will need £2500+ spending on it for the carbon mast and new main then all of a sudden you have spend £8500-£9500 That is lots on a boat you are right Ross, especially when you will never be able to get any where close to the front of the fleet in the class!

How do you know that? It is possible if you put the effort in. Do you go out your way to be a first class t**t? You don't even know me or seen me sail, not saying I would get into the gold fleet, but who the hell are you to tell me that I can't?

Being only 4 - 5 years old, already had £3000 spent on it (£17,000+ new) you save £10,000, compartiviely thats pretty damn good.. You will only need to spend on a new rig if you can sail to gold fleet standard, otherwise it can wait till 2012 when there will be new rigs on the second hand market. If your sailing to gold fleet, your not going to be paying 1p for that rig anyway...

[QUOTE=Chris Bridges]

For me I like a hard boat to sail, I like the challenge but for others they like speed for little effort.

You will like the firefly then, very difficult to get to go fast.

And Steve TC will make you feel like he is the one in a skiff the distance he wil put on you. When you can get close, you can come back and tell us you are good

I never did, but won lots of other things!

Wow hang on a minute i wasn't talking about you i was talking in general! and I'm sorry but you would be in the Squad now if you were going to be anywhere near the Gold fleet!  And its very easy to call someone a twit with an "a" when you are miles away from them, quite frankly they only person that has come across like that is you!

Oh and who am i to tell you, well I'm a realist, that dislikes over opinionated and ill informed people.
