In case there are other secret 59er sailors on this forum looking for new sails I recently brought some for a 29erXX and fitted them. And they fitted surprisingly well.

Great video Ian. As the owner of another 'lost class' (a Topper Spice) I'm interested in alternative sources for used sails and, to that end, I started to build a database of sail dimensions. Sadly we are a minority (which is likely why the classes have become moribund Cry) and the project stalled at only about half a dozen boats but I'd definitely be up to attempt to revive it if anybody is prepared to measure their sails and send me the numbers. I would need luff, leech and foot measurements for main, jib and kite, and I'm happy to share.

Very nice. If you Google 59er xx you will find a forum post from Julian Bethwaite on fitting 29er xx to a 59er.

"Very nice.  Are you familiar with this forum thread Ian?

Interesting thread that seems to agree with my experiences.

It is a great boat and with the trapeze is exactly what I was looking for, a bigger easier to sail 29er.

Maybe you could share the dimensions on here (luff and foot as minimum), you never know there might be a few other classes that share similar sails?

Yup can do If I remember a tape next tie I'm down. The 59er mast runs a lot of mast bend, and thus have a lot of luff curve though so even if the base numbers were in the ball park without a comparable mast I doubt they would work.
