But that would essentially change PY / make the equalisation unfairly. Light sailors won’t be able to increase their righting moment, wings maxed out, while heavier sailors would be able to be extending the wings and increase righting moment.

Why would you change wing setting with wind strength??

I don't recall people cheating by using incorrect equalisation settings having been a major problem when such things were fashionable.

Presumably the PY will be determined by particular width settings?
Or will you be able to use any setting at PY events?
I did note that the weight for minimum width is 54kg (8.5stone) which to my eye seems very low, so could be a bandit in a breeze for a heavier person on the maximum width, if the PY was set for minimum beam? |

What am I missing? Surely it should be max width for minimum weight? Unless it is big people on max width with bigger rigs but then that would be three entirely different boats.
Anyway looks like a dog dinner to me, so I'm probably not seeing it as intended.

I think the chances of PYAG getting enough returns to apply anything meaningful to its weight equalisation are about as likely as anyone is to protest a fat lad on the wide setting. Total non-issue... as it has been for all other weight equalisation systems.

Exactly, even with an RS800, you'd have to move the racks a long way to make much difference to PY over a series. OD racing, it might keep everyone that bit closer together though.

Thrill seekers could go out with small sail, maximum width and have a blast in bonkers wind.

800s, 700s, 4000s, D-ones (among others) all have moveable racks but only one

Probably will be the same with Portstar, individual wing settings will be governed by class rules.
