IGRF , serious questions . Is the main sheet system the production version as it doesn’t look right and are they staying with the single toe strap? As it looks like you would need long legs to hike it properly.

He went on about the ergonomics of the hiking position and how much time he'd paid to getting the cockpit depth right, we all thought two straps would be better and no the sheeting system and something else surrounding the connection of the boom to the mast is still being revised, there's some sort of locking system, I wasn't paying a lot of attention at that point something female passed by during that bit and I was begiining to lose the will to live. The boys seem to think they've sorted the mast base locking, one of the guys I was with is an expert Laserjockey and they'd begun to speak hi level laser programming code so everything clouded over and I wandered off to look underneath it. Got pictures if anyone wants to see them of the underside and I gave the rocker a look as best you can when it's chocked up on show stands but it looks OK, honestly I couldn't see anything that you'd go, woa don't like that, full batten sail is it's only flaw in my book but I accept their reasoning and it's a well put together rag.

the answer to the question ... what do we not need in dinghy sailing right now?

... another single hander  Wink
Feeling sorry for vegans since it became the latest fad to claim you are one

Particularly perhaps another hiking singlehander with no kite?

But maybe that's a very British POV, the rest of the world may have less of the 20th century legacy we've got?

I don't think they're looking too much at the PY fleets on UK puddles or beaches.
I suspect they have a plan to aim straight at the squad/team/pro level and then the 5 ring circus.

How did whatever the top level boards race get selected? I don't think it evolved out of the 'class system'.

Don't forget there is EU money and politics in this.

But its got a daggerboard; isn’t that a bit of a deal breaker for you Graeme?

And its Rastegar. Personally, I’d no more buy anything from him than from Putin

This is so true . Tbh I think I would trust Putin more .

Any sign of any problem with the boat , the design rights and tooling  will be transferred to another company and the company you’ve bought if off will either be put into administration or left as a dormant shell company.
It’s not like he has done it before is it lol, cough LP and a well known baby buggy manufacturer.  LOL

I bet its a DVD player, so you can watch how to sail it whilst out on the water.
Its re-hash of the old On The Job Training.
To be honest the whole boat looks like something you would put in a bathroom, or perhaps a one person hot tub?

The Portstar is an answer to a problem that was never asked. It must be depressing trying to sell this stuff for a living.

I'm not sure I remember anyone asking a question that resulted in the Aero. I should go hunting for old threads.

Try this:

I must admit it doesn't excite me, but little does these days. I've never really seen a role for ram bows on a racing dinghy*, and I thought weight equalisation was a dead duck, but who knows...

*I think the boat has to be really long and thin for them to have a place.

You can probably blame me for the Aero, after a lunchtime chat with Martin Wadhams at Southampton boat show a few years back(bear in mind he and I go back years to the dawn of windsurfing history) At the time the RS100 was all the rage and I was still wittering on about how heavy all the crap they sell and you lot buy and reminding him of Jack Holt when he was getting old and the Streaker (needing to be lighter). I pointed out his demographic (all pale, male and getting staler by the year)what they need is something light they can get in and out of the water easy and wasn't too complicated to sail.

This is what we all want and now we have the Pornstar as well, I've no idea who Rastegar even is, only what I've read here, but I do know that Portugal has had a load of EU investment which I'm grateful for, for what it has meant to the surf style board Industry part of which is still keeping me in the manner to which I've become accustomed.

Honestly, this is a good thing, the more 'light is right' pressure is put on all the moron classes that insist on staying same ole same ole, the better imv.
