Luckily the wind direction for Dudley and Eunice was from the far end of our garden, 150 yards away, where a couple of trees are down..
The boat cover  / boat was ok. though the boat rocked on it's trailer supports and the foam pads between them and hull fell out.
The house lost a clay roof tile, which amazingly fell the 20ft without breaking.

The sailing club has two web cams, unfortunately one is now staring at the ground, and that's the one I need to see my motor boat, so I'll drop in on the way home from work.. Before you lot think I'm rich, the motor boat is old and tired and cost less than many on here have paid for their sailing dinghies..

The Strongest winds I've experienced was 126 mph... In the Outer Hebridies, my boat of the time was on it's trailer behind the barrack block , it proceeded across the car park on it's own between two parked cars with out hitting either of them stopping at the bottom end when it reached the curb.. How did I know it's route... Tyre tracks.. The brakes were on and you could follow the black tyre marks across the car park. There wasn't a lot left of the cover though..

Well so all the boats at my club have survived the wind so far and we managed to get a race completed yesterday morning . ( Not that I sailed lol . Spent the morning taking pics for the club fb page and drinking coffee and then possibly a glass of wine or two ).
How is everyone coping with the storms at their clubs ?

My ancient old light board was 40 years old ish, it too has some damage because it escaped it's moving moorings and also it doesn't meet current specs for a trailer this wide. So it was about time for a new one.
I decided on LED as the Landrover has had it's indicators and side lights converted to LED, so  the flasher unit is for LED's. By Shopping around I found I could get all the bits vastly cheaper than a commercial light board and since electronics is my field, I have all the tools to do the job..

Had a wander around the SC last night all the boats there seem to have survived OK,  most were sheltered by buildings from the wind from the west.

Round the broads though several boats have sunk mostly motorboats.

One of the club webcams is focused on the deck and it's bracket is gone.. That camera was in full force of the storms, plus it's plastic bracket was getting sunlight degradation being on the sunny side of the  building.

I have to say I was watching some webcam footage  from Oulton Broad on the Saturday and I’ve never seen proper waves on the broad before . It was good watching no4 buoy break free and end up at the commodore pub  LOL

I drove over to the SC (Shoreham) a couple of times in the last couple of days just to check both my boats are OK. I guessed they would be but there's always that little niggling doubt, isn't there? Both were snug as a bug in a rug  and so was everything else so far as I could see. But I have vivid memories of doing the same at Datchet many years ago during a particularly vicious storm; as I walked up the windy path that leads to the top of the reservoir, someone's Dart 18 became airborne from further up and passed over my head with only a metre or so of excess altitude.... it landed right down at the bottom of the slope, and not in a good way. Lesson learned; when high wind is expected, take the tramp off...

I'm not arguing. I'm explaining why I'm right.
