Norwich has that in one or two places.. the most concentrated being particularly around the castle... and that road is only open to.... Buses and taxi's!!!
The other bad ones are also on major bus routes..

Not really a surprise, and at least they are doing something about the direct problem, slowly... Also as most bus routes are, by definition, the main commuter routes adding other diesel vehicles just adds to the problem. Now if public transport was not in private hands the council could easily deal with the problem caused  Censored

It will be interesting to see whether thre ULEZ rules have much impact, a lot of pollution actually comes from woodburners, barbecues, centrsl heating erc etc.

Unfortunately it’s the government’s favourite method of getting clean air in cities. Just another tax on the poor who cannot afford newer cars or go electric.
They were trying to force Coventry council to have one and the only way round it was to have average speed cameras fitted to all the main roads into the city .

Manchester CAZ is huge as you say but private cars are exempt as are disabled vehicles. We have just changed our camper for a newer one, the trigger being that the old one would have fallen foul of the CAZ though that wasn't the only reason for changing. It is currently being contested but whether anything will come if that I don't know, maybe an old Range Rover should be my next tow car as 'classic vehicles' are also exempt  Big smile

Just found another reason for moving out of Ally Pally, it's inside the new extended ULEZ, so unless your car is VERY recent, it could have cost you £12:50 to go inside the M25.. £100 in anything bigger, so a great chance of many no longer going to Ally Pally when added to the parking charges there next year..
Many of the club and small traders would not want to pay £100 for their old wagon to go there..

So if you are going to Farnborough don't miss a turning and go inside the M25 it could be expensive..

Check your car here..  https://www.checkcardetails.co.uk/cardetails/ because other cities are cashing in on this money maker .. Manchesters area for in stance is Huge..
