After my first trip I have found that the lights slid down and fell off . Fortunately I had tied them on also in case this happened. I suspect a Combination of a lot of shaking and bouncing coupled with not a lot of steel.
I have now bolted them on also. The supplied wires are long enough to charge while attached to the board.

The magnets are really strong and work through the thickness of the aero transom flaps, however, I have glued some thin steel plate to the trailer board and shall add a tether until I am more confident

Glad they worked out well for you.

I used them for the first time last week - worked a treat from the transmitter inside the boot. Actually operate inside the house when car parked on drive. They are designed for farm use - the trailers are large steel construction, so signal is probably set to 'kill'

They have probably sorted this out in the last 3-5 years or so as the LED boards have become more mainstream.

I lent my box/windsurfing trailer to a mate and the LED lights simply would not work with his car, a 2010(ish) Skoda Octavia). Fortunately I had/have a spare lighting board with filament lights which worked fine. I have three LED light boards (Trailer, RIB and dinghies) and all work fine with both the 2011 BMW 520 and the 2009 VW T5, I fitted the tow bars and electrics to both myself.

LED boards wont trigger the BCM fitted with dedicated wiring packs as they don't draw enough current. So they wont work at all.

If you have a bypass relay they'll work, but again they don't draw enough to trigger the beep.

There are ways around this, using resistors, putting a bulb inline Inside the car etc but its actually far less hassle to just use a conventional board and keep an eye on it. I'm not a huge fan of the LED ones, they are fine in the dark but the two ive tried haven't been bright enough for daylight use in my opinion, particularly the brake lights.

I think I've dragged my trailer board a fair way by the cable, lashing it to empty trailers is always a wind-up.
