I have some patches of gel coat blisters where my Europe is supported by the trolley. I think I have sorted the cause by using a stronger layer of fake grass on the cradle, there should be no more issues of water retention.

Do I need to repair the blistered areas - if so is there a preferred method?

If I don't try to repair will it cause long term issues?

Any advice greatly appreciated. Smile

Maybe let it dry out over winter in a warm garage and see if the blisters dissappear?

We had a Laser as a trade in with Osmosis quite a long time ago now.
When we saw it again a few years later there was no sign of any problem, so I think there is a reasonable chance of it improving over time

I intend to sail a bit during the winter; I will keep an eye on it and hope it doesn't  get worse. It has a few other issues that perhaps justify a professional approach to sort. It's 40 years old, I am keen to keep it fit and well cos there aren't many Europe's around.

Heated garage?... Nice!

I should have said that the problem is caused by leaving the boat smothered in a non breathable undercover, or even a top cover,  and indeed combi bags for the foils.
It therefore makes sense to remove your undercover unless you are towing, and the same applies to your foils, especially for winter storage
