Thanks ratters... weight isn't always everything as we proved in a GP14 yesterday with 10 stone too little weight in there up in the top 10 Thanks for the info, yes last time i trapezed off the centreboard case at first then climbed out, was just asking in general.  Not sure I'll be wire to wire tacking, think I'd rather not swim... we'll see.

Wire to wire isn't that hard, just make sure you have a firm grip and you will be fine . If you don't have a grip then you migth go for a swim . It feels a lot harder when yoru not so confident on the trapeze but once oyur more confidence you will probably find yourself doing it unintentionally when you need to get out quickly..

Shhh... .  I never heard you say jybe ho, or whatever you say. I just gave the 'Huh, you what?' reply and whoosh  i was head first in the water 30 yards away from the boat. .

...You can't get good enough helms these days!

Yelling is defiantly a part of my sailing with most crews/helms unless i don't know them well or they are new

Usually not a good idea IME. A fast boat has a lot of quiet talk, but no shouting. Personally as a reasonably competent crew I won't sail with a helm that shouts - it smacks of him thinking he can do my job better than me, and knows what's going right or wrong better than me. That's not likely to be the case. "Shut up and sail the boat" has a very honourable pedigree. More crews should use it!
