Poole Week

   I have really enjoyed my sailing since returning to the sport in November last year. I sail / race on a relatively small lake with the usual shifty and gusty wind issues.
I am considering doing a couple of days at Poole thinking that it would be a good opportunity to experience some different conditions. Not having done any such event I'm just wondering what to expect should I decide to go.

It would be great to hear any opinions regarding likely conditions, organisation etc.

	We raced at Poole Week last year. The event is normally run over 2 courses: some fleets start from the Race Platform a short sail from the clubhouse. Others were run from a committee boat south west of the club in the region of the mark "Volunteer" which is a bit of a trek (see chart at link https://www.parkstoneyachtclub.com/getmedia/df7ec0df-f8a4-407d-add2-10be91fd141b/IMRAY_ML1.aspx?fbclid=IwAR3VqVk5GtooQdaa7h4EEJtrcZvpGkKnUcU5mmrHJO2Ks_ZWUC9RgToXEos ) so priority is to get off the beach in good time. We had a mix of windward/leeward and round-the-harbour courses, 2 races a day. The event organisation is about as good as it gets and the new clubhouse is fabulous. Not sure how it will pan out this year given the issues with social distancing etc but would definitely recommend.
