Does the FF have a keelboat rating? I will of course enquire of the Club I'm thinking of asking to tag onto their bay races.

Why do we need rating systems? To allow The search for a perfect rating system is as old as sailboat racing itself. However, regardless of what rating system is actually in use, an ideal rating system should have the following features

I think Marwen has discovered the site and is happily reading through all our ramblings from the last few years. I'm enjoying seeing some of the threads again!

Ranger 26 (Rascal)

Rascal is our smallest cruising keelboat. She has a masthead sloop rig, sail area of 322 sq ft, fin keel with draft of 4.33 ft, and spade rudder. She displaces 5,860 lbs and has 2,050 lbs of ballast. Rascal is rigged to fly a symmetrical spinnaker. She sleeps 3-4.

Rascal requires a keelboat novice rating.

Been sailing more in the last couple of weeks than I usually manage in a month. Been throwing the Lightning round the fixed lap, concentrating far too hard!

I think Marwen is as bored as I am of the repetitive posturing and polarising views about getting back to racing and so is stirring the pot a bit - which is not a bad thing to do.
