Not such a giant spinnaker, but it was the nicest symm spinnaker I ever used.  Set on the long pole the boat balanced brilliantly on a reach (not an experience most asymm sailors enjoy), and, as usual on an L2, you could steer just by adjusting the mainsheet - which was just as well, as the rudder was practically useless in any sort of wind!

Spinnaker doubles the sail area and wakes the boat up.  Lovely rudder compared to laser one.
Fair winds

Apart from the hum.  I put a hardwood strip down the trailing edge of mine and could fair it enough for silence.  But with the full main with a long foot, the rudder had a bit of a job on not to ventilate at any moment. The same blade when used on the Laser 3000 with its shorter foot mainsail, does a much more adequate job.

I find coming ashore single handed quite a challenge. I have a fireball rudder on mine and I drop the main to give a. More time to sort everything else and b. Reduce my speed drastically but I find with just the jib I have a absolutely no control over direction. I used to sail vago’s and bahias as a youth at a club I attended and dropping the main and sailing in the last (short) bit just on jib was common practice

Spinnaker seemed pretty huge at that moment!

Rupert, would you like to come out on my Laser Fun New Wave and teach me how to fly the spinnaker when we don’t have the social distancing, that was me sailing the New Wave with my boy yesterday at Whitefriars. Yesterday was the first time he ventured out on the trapeze. We are having trouble bringing the spinnaker in as it keeps getting stuck on the jib furler or between the spinnaker pole and jib! Trystan doesn’t appreciate scooting up the deck to try and get the sail in!

That's exactly why I gave up on the New Wave when sailing in Minorca when they first appeared, and I came to it as a Laser 2 sailor who had all solved all problems with the standard L2 kite.  I got fed up sailing straight past the leeward mark with the crew on the foredeck.

Long-term solution was to buy a Laser 3000, but even there, as with many asymmetrics with the chute behind the jib tack, there's a (reliable) knack to getting 'wrong-side' drops done cleanly.
