You really don’t know much about the safety net in France Germany Spain or the Low Countries etc do you ? Think you will find out ours is pretty poor in comparison.

I don't think there is another country in the world doing as much for its people than UK? Not seen anyone complaining about World sailing bailout either?
However I am not very knowledge about much, someone should be along soon that knows

I guess they may not have much choice, with the Olympics getting put back unitl next year, as a high percentage of their overall income comes from awarding tv rights for the olympics every four years.

Furlough about protecting staff I believe, was easier to set up than self employed payments, they are being paid via inland revenue system, much much better for country than unemployment, people still have money to spend.
