Yes found it odd that the report seemed to criticize the radial for being to powerful but then glossed over the fact the aero requires a higher helm weight

The Laser is a strange and uncomfortable boat, but a beginner can buy a wreck for £500 and start the ( very!) long road to Gold!. Cheapest Aero ten times that? and RS have history in producing new models to keep sales rolling

Amazing effort from RS to potentially get their boat in to the games

However, as I understand it, they are suggesting the 9 for men and 7 for women.

Not many ladies will be able to hold down a 7 in any breeze (wasn't the argument that the 5.7m Radial was too powerful for the smaller ladies ?) Similarly the 9 - smaller nations may struggle.

I cant get the 'beach club' style Aero high boom out of my head though - it just looks wrong compared to the numerous classes who have the boom clamped to the deck (Europe, Laser, D Zero, Finn, OK, Contender, Phantom even)

Also - with a 30kg hull, will that make the competitive weight even tighter than a Laser ?
