So I'm prepared when i get back to the boat, what do i want to take with me to remove the goo that is bound to be left after removing some self adhesive pro-drip?
Thanks Ian

You can get adhesive remover from 3M which worked really well on the slot gasket on my 400. The RS Components(not RS as in 400) is not so good. I have also used solvent thinners it all depends what you stuck it down with. Good luck

Just did this on some racks.
Found that a nicely sharpened chisel driven at a shallow angle with one hand and held down by the other hand on blade removed the vast majority without recourse to vast amount of solvent. Remainder scrubbed off with acetone. Dan |

Removing Dunlop thixofix similar to evostik ie nasty stuff.
Self adhesive pro grip far less onerous I believe. |

No sweat. If you are going back on with pro grip then polished surface not too vital :-)
If chisel sharp and wielded well it should not mark the surface. My racks are natural carbon finish. |

A new 25mm chisel is wide and sharp enough that it wont even mark the boat if wielded well
Then just go to town with a scouring pad and any solvent. If you're struggling for a solvent a good easy one to get hold of is cellulose thinners from Halfords Exactly the same setup for doing slot gaskets plus a little sand on the stubborn bits. Just make sure your chisel is a dedicated boat chisel as the minute you blunt or dent it you'l start leaving marks on the boat This is for GRP, never had to do it to anything else

Hope this doesn't count as a hijack but has anybody used spray contact adhesive to apply Progrip? If so, what brand? There appears to be a lot of variety in cost and I assume, quality of glue.
