Yeah that new Laser rig is a new class mate, anyone who tries to pass the 'new' (and as yet unofficial) Laser rigs from either LP or PSA is definitely pot hunting.

I would qualify that, on open flat estuary or big lake style water it could be true, but on the sea with waves and surfing conditions the laser can more than hold it's own, our series was won by a Laser on 1078, at 1099 it's a complete weapon, seeing that carbon rig, I'm almost tempted to Bandit one for a season if it wasn't for the fact I've got something so much nicer to sail even though I'm going to get slaughtered by Lasers in 80% of conditions.

They can, but the can of worms that gets opened means it rarely happens.

I think this depends where you sail.   On open sea or large lakes I think the laser yardstick is still tough to sail to against higher performance boats.   On more restricted waters or against slower boats I can understand why it might appear generous.   Clubs can adjust figures if they think the national numbers are wrong for their water.

A three boats sailed every weekend could achieve 327 races (L&L S C completed 119 Sunday races in 2018), two could do it they sailed a couple of times a week in the season.......
