It's his shroud or cap shround that is coming unscrewed from the mast. He has used a halyard to secure it (a bit), but it will not hold long Crappy luck. I wonder if he can fix it. He's showed how fast he can go, but can he keep the stick up and finish in time?

ahead of Ellen MacArthur's record until today, but the starboard halyard for the mainsail is about to snap and he runs the risk of losing the mast. It would be such a shame, so close (relatively speaking) to the end.
