But thanks for the offer I very nearly came down when Woodsy was Commodore to some pursuit race or other you were running and I keep getting asked to do the Round Hayling one more time having missed winning it by robbery at the last hurdle once before, we'll see. If I manage to get this latest boat to hold together for a period long enough to master it I could maybe bring it down..

GRF, come down to the Whitsun regatta next year, I think that you may be pleasantly surprised by the experience. You can still stay on site and drink late into the evening on the balcony with beautiful views and gas about who wronged you on the water and by sailing in different places against different boats it may show your new ships performance to a wider group of people.

I used to love going there back in the day, being able to doss in the dorms so drink till we dropped was great, we had loads of events there in the late seventies early eighties.

But whatever it was they did to it with the modern refurb ripped the heart out of it in my book, cold, commercial, heartless, can't stand the place now, but I do have some very fond memories the way it was...

Surely not, it would have been the best boat ever if he was. Or did the corrupt establishment not listen to him and since then the class was doomed to fail

I agree, what a terrible place to sail. Think this video of the Whitsun Regatta highlights that... No smiles, terrible looking waters plus posers with cameras on their boat - why would you go there  Wink Beer

The post announcing it should have been here earlier then maybe some of us might have bothered to hitch the trailer, travel to the coldest (atmosphered) commercial club in the country on the most infuriating piece of water on the planet to be out handicapped, ignored for the most part and then tavel home empty handed and empty fuel tanked.. Or maybe we wouldn't have bothered, but it would have been useful to know in advance.
