I suspect wages afford a £30k dinghy with a global circuit taking in the Far East, Australia, the Americas and the prime European hotspots at a regular rotation.... I guess it kind of helps that pro sailors can push these costs above their taxable income lines, and honestly, good luck to them - mixing talent with training and hard work to fund a lifestyle is not to be scoffed at on the Internet.    But I would struggle to feel any kind of sympathy for encountering the routine skunkings the rest of us are susceptible too.... that's sailing unfortunately.
