Looking at buying a spraytop for over a wetsuit.  For cruising and racing in 1 /2 person dinghy most of the year.

So far my choice seems to be down to the Rooster Pro Aqua Fleece and the Gill Thermal Dinghy Top.  Any preferences between the two?  Also, any others worth checking out?

Depends whether it is the new Gill top or the older version.

The older Gill top is great when it's dry, but didsuffer from a wind chill effect when it's wet.  I don't particularly like the looks of the Rooster Pro Aqua Fleece, but from a functional viewpoint it was an easy winner.

I believe the new Gill top is waterproof and windproof like the Rooster top and Gill are still very good on the customer service front if you have an issue.  Not much to choose between them now.

Gill seems to soak up water much more than the Rooster when its wet.

Rooster far better IMO

I've got a "Classic" Aquafleece, which is great. Only, I wouldn't buy it again, as the "Pro" version is better (velcro at the waist, which stops it from riding up). My daughters both have the Aquafleece Pro and are very happy with it.

I bought a Aquafleece pro last year at the Dinghy show and to be honest I can't find fault with it at all. Brilliant product. Would recommend.

Sounds like the Rooster has a lot of favourites.  Doesn't appear to have much against it.

One other question is how does it generally measure up for size.  I am a mediun build.  5'10" and 75kg (11st 7lb).

I have a couple of Aquafleece tops, one is Large which is tight, the other is XL and has a little more room but is not baggy. I'm 5' 7" and 76 kg....... I have the same problem with Decathlon tops, I'm about to buy a waterproof jacket in XL as my M sized jacket is 'snug' over anything more than a teeshirt......

The Rooster tops are great though.....
