750 ml is plenty. Clean and prepare mast. Apply one coat. Then if you apply second coat within the overcoating time there is no need to prepare between coats. Two coats is sufficient.

There will be enough left over for at least two more coats. So store carefully.

from memory a 750ml tin will cover 9 m2 so easily enough for 3 coats on the mast

No need to remove fittings!

Do you know how many coats you usually apply using the perfection plus system? Is 1 750ml tin usually sufficient?

My thinking was I'd remove all the single pack before applying a two pack varnish next season as, you are right, I'd be relying on the single pack adhesion.

Good advice though and lots of sanding with my suggested method. I'll put myself an order in for the perfection plus.

Main concern was the mast fittings but I will be leaving them where they are!

Dont use one pack. The UV filters are much poorer and you have to do it again in 12 months

Takes no longer to use a two part. Otherwise you will be putting the two part over a one part at the end of the season. So the adhesion will only be as good as the one part that is left on after preparation.

Just use two part from the get go is my 2p.

Any two pack topcoat will be fine. be wary that there are an increasing number of two pack rapid build clear primers - these don't have UV filters and are no use in this application
