I find it very interesting from the perspective of a dinghy sailor on smallish ponds. It sounds positively scary what you've been doing! But also great fun :)

Read the bit about the boat and the Eastbourne to Ramsgate bit, something like this is on my bucket list not sure about the UK, always fancied trolling across to France then down through the canal system, would need something that you could drop the mast on easily single handed I guess, I wouldn't even know if such a device existed.

Before old age and arthritis got it's final grip, I recently sailed solo around Britain in a 1979 twin keel  Leisure 27, Dark Star, and have finally finished gathering the weekly "blogs" together. 


I hope it might help others who have retired (since plenty of time is needed!) and maybe thinking on the  same lines. 

Be happy to answer any queries.
