NATIONALS CANCELLED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER (21st/22nd Oct - Lyme Regis S.C)

Very strong winds and big swell have meant we have had to call off the first UK Farr 3.7 Nationals. We will be rearranging for next year. On a positive note this gives those building the Winter to finish there boats for the Nationals!

Why did I spend all those years messing up my knees hips and back hiking when I could have been doing this?

Need to tighten the out-haul a tad perhaps

20nkts?.. flat water, good helm, right wind strength... you'd get close to that. But it's not an everyday event.

It's not a boat that is ultimately about outright speed. But it's a boat that feels speedy. Which is really whats important.

If I was in the market for a trap singlehander (and had the money) the Farr would be at the top of my list but I'm now, finally, developing some common sense and trying to sail 'sensible' boats (probably not quite there yet as I have a Spice but have recently bought a Blaze which is definitely a step in the right direction). I may well end up back in an Enterprise in a couple of years (and the Blaze will take over from the Spice as the 'silly boat').

I think you can buy an FRP composite 3.7 (and possibly a full FRP one) in the UK but a new boat, whatever the class, is not a cheap option.
