....Old folk, that's me

I like old movies, old furniture and reckon the Stones/Pink Floyd are still the Mutts Nuts.

The crew's my wife so we need a system that keeps her happy.

I thought you might suggest I forget the old boat and get a Cherub.

Hmm not that I've used them but I've seen old folk who still do, but isn't that
what the crew's for?

Isn't that why they bend over?

Are they not some sort of recepticle.

One of the reasons I never quite took to sailing pre assyms..

We are currently using the end for end pole system with an uphaul/downhaul hook in the center of the pole. With this arrangement the pole can get lost during capsizes. Also I'm pretty sure there must be systems that are easier to use.

Tried the ramp system last summer. No prob with loosing the pole with this system but it seemed no easier.

Our spinny work isn't bad but we are looking for improvement particularly with consistently keeping the kite full through the gybe. This summer we want to try the trolley system with a bungee from the boom end around the front of the mast and a block on the pole. A single ended system where the pole comes in before the gybe. The class rules are OK with this but we can't use a launcher.

Can any symmetric sailors, past or present, give me any tips on the pros and cons before I start drilling pop rivet holes all over the place.

Thanks.
