One of the Miracle Mums was using the system down the lake a couple of winters back, we've not quite entered full on glove temperatures yet, I chucked mine in the front of the boat I can't stand gloves at the best of times, so not sure if they 'stuck' she wasn't about this sunday just gone, but you do see them here and there.

Gloves never work for windsurfing they may be OK for a bit of leisure out and back but if you're racing the only thing for it is grin and bear it, get your hands cold first then suffer the hot hurt agony at the end of the session. Jesus how did we do it? Not any more, sub 10 degrees and I'm out of it, boats are not the same the diameter of rope isn't as large as a windsurfing boom and not as difficult to grip even with gloves.

Well done to the young Liam for his creation from the RS Aero Winter Training at Hayling Island last weekend.

I didn't understand him missing a day's sailing at first but the results were good. Then he went on to produce footage of himself from Sunday to add in too!

Yes a bit different to UK Cherubs. I still think it is a shame (even though I was on the committee at the time, use my boat as a test boat and voted for it) that the UK went twin wire. But we don't have the same sailing culture here and the UK Cherub was getting pasted by other classes at the time. It's doing OK now... although should amalgamate with the NZ R-Class skiff is you ask me.

Don't you think that youth drop out has more to do with the UK Club culture (UK sailing class perception) than the type of boats? Being that AUS is a meritocracal society?

Absolutely....much more to do with that than the squad burn/drop out thing....the offer from the clubs simply isn't good enough.  And it's remarkable how many quietly discriminate against children and youth.
