Stick it on the roof of your car and take the Portsmouth - Bilbao or Plymouth - Santander ferry. The Pompey route is about 36 hours each way. Not cheap but I think it beats driving it.

Yep... you could.

A quick google gives a load of shipping firms that look like they'd do a better price than a Car Ferry.

The only problem with buying one from Oz is aftersales (if a new boat) or the pre-purchase inspection of a used boat.

Thank you very much for your help and attention, I continue to make inquiries and maybe I can solve the problem. Buying a Farr 3.7 in UK does not have to be such a big problem, the last Moth I bought came from China and the last 470 from NZ !!!
With a little luck the 1 = 1 pound with the euro !!!     Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink

The NZ Class is very helpful. I bought my boat 'sight unseen' (apart from pics) from NZ and there were no issues at all. I am pretty sure that if there were any second hand boats available* in NZ (the class has become rather popular recently!) And someone wanted to bring one over to the UK. That one of the class officers would have a look at it, or would know the boat, and so could give sound advice on your purchase.

*(There is a pro built hull for sale in NZ, but there is no gain in bringing it over as Butler Boats will make you one for less.)
