Yacht Surveys

   Do all insurers ask for yacht surveys? I recently purchased a small yacht(22ft) which is of limited value - less than 4K. Ordinarily I would want fully comp cover but it seems the minimum charge for a survey is considerably more than the likely cost of the insurance premium. Any advice ?

	I had the same problem last year, ending up switching my insurance to Craftinsure, who were very understanding and didnt need a survey Ian

	Ian, many thanks for the recommendation. All done, no hassle with Craftinsure. Coincidently, I may well end up at Medway if I find the Rother at Rye a bit too tricky. That was my original plan as I crew on one of the Sonatas at Medway but the mooring came with the boat so thought I should at least try it. 	Good boat for the Medway. Lifting keel for cruising fun over the mud and fast enough to keep up, for a bit of racing. We'll keep a look out for you :-)
