When my daughters come home they raid my iTunes play lists for what I'm listening to at the moment.

Then when I tell them it's Rick Astley as I did at the weekend they go whoo?, he's quite good though.

And that Cake on the beach by DNCE, but they have to have them away...

And Glitter & Gold by Barns Courtney...

My offspring are generally embarrassed by my musical taste, which is how it should be. And I can wind them up by saying things like "this has got a good beat" to any new stuff they have, and dad dancing in the kitchen.

No wonder they don't invite friends round.

Name drop time... Chesney Hawkes came up in my 'People You might know' list on Facebook the other week.

We have mutual friends it seems.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, so it appears standard defence mechanism of self deprecating piss take is the only viable option.  Why couldn't it be Dave Grohl, or Eddie Veder...

Could have been worse. Actually, I'm struggling to think, now. Timmy Mallett maybe?

My children, (children @ 29?), have no musical taste at all. The only way they can navigate pop history is via sex abuse court cases.

The only one I'm thinking could be worse is Rod Hull and Emu, but he's dead, so that's unlikely to happen.

Timmy Mallett would be awesome, especially if he introduced me to Pinky Punky

Apparently Emu was speechless when he heard Rod had died.

I missed that, I'll tune in more carefully next time there's a celebrity death.... it won't be long.

Another 'for my sins, which are many' I met Rod Hull and Emu, only to then get the piss ripped out of me in his routine that evening! In a club environment he could be very funny and was actually a good act to enjoy - until you got on the receiving end of his humour. A genuine performer and funny guy......not to mention another sad loss.
