So...bets on the first Hadron being called "Collider"! Will be checking my insurance just in case one appears on a lake near me!

it's a pity PYAG could not find Sprint handicap, I believe it was last PY published for any Minisail derivative.
I will mainly be using for class racing and CVRDA events, so trying to live up to it's "new number" not such an issue.
I mainly use Enterprise for club racing, or I could use Aquabat, which will not be affected by new  Fuller number generator.

The MiniSprint handicap was 126 when I owned one in the late 80s, which translates as 1191. The 1248 handicap comes from the 110 figure on the previous system, x1.2 x9.46.

How about starting a new thread about PY, Minisail and Skipper 14 handicap gripes.

I am very interested in the H2 and if it sails as well as it looks my results when handicap racing will be irrelevant to me ... I shall know that I have done my best ... In time the PY thing will get sorted when the returns come in, and by then there may be a few more H2s to get some class racing going.

I have raced Merlins, National 12s, Solos, Lasers, Yawls and International 14s in handicap events and have achieved broadly similar results in all of these boats ... So I shall probably take my chances in a H2.
Happily living in the past

Hear, hear, davidyacht. I resisted posting a similar thought because I risked being thought disingenuous again.

Are there class rules in place with a min weight?
Or is it like other SMODs where you take what you're given?

The H2 class rules are now in their final draft. We are going to try to avoid any of the SMOD dictatorial stuff, so one design hull but some latitude with rig, fittings. Total sailing weight is going to be about the same as a Phantom, but that will be clarified very shortly. A minimum weight will be specified in th rules.

Hi Keith
Makes sense this minnimum weight, make it 100kg and keep all the nasty light weights out who spoil boats, by making them easy to de power and then pass us all downwind. Could you add a minnimum height as well to keep poisened dwarfs out.
Weight correctors in the bouyancy jacket and stilted dinghy boots for those who are short.
Regards
Gordon

Total sailing weight same as Phantom?
Assuming that means the boat, not boat + Gordon, that seems heavy to me?
Hadron is shorter and designed decades later?
Or are Phantoms lighter than I think?

Suspect that tall of the additional topsides, foredeck and bouyancy tanks adds a bit of weight over the phantom, but its more 200 sized in the flesh so I don't think heavy for what it is.
