Look forward to seeing more! If you haven't already come across it, the Littlstar app has some stunning examples of 360 film making. In the meantime, I shall have to wait and see what Nikon comes up with.

yeah the tiller isnt the place to have one! im going to mount it on deck in front of the daggerboard which should allow for a more comfortable watch.

id like to see them on top of race marks at a big event (probably need to be gimbaled though) as that would allow for you to follow the action properly.

youtube compression doesnt help  your right, need to do some post colour correction and few other things to make it pop more but the raw footage on my computer looks great to be honest, alot better than i was expecting.

they now have a 4k version which should have a much better sensor if you flet inclined to spend the extra, i didnt see the point when the editing software still needs to catch up anyway.

With the likes of Nikon and Canon coming into the 360 market hopefully, we'll see a big jump in picture quality. I haven't seen a sub £5k system yet deliver even reasonable picture quality - even allowing for YouTube compression. Hopefully someone will get it right because it is very immersive and would be great mounted on dinghies - but in the right place! Good effort though.

Ardea it was fresh out the box so wanted to see how it performed first, next time i will try the lick the lens technique and the go to products based on how that works.

cheers iGRF, it was howling that day and the 3 mustos took a pasting that went out. i decided to remain ashore and watch the carnage, but if it gives you sense of how it feels then i guess it works.

That was truly surreal, it brought back the full horrors of MPS sailing wth extra chill, and distortion and bonus split water horizon inversion, frankly it reminded me of going to see Psycho for the first time as a young lad, I shall probably wake up screaming tonight having watched that - er thanks leave your name in the waste basket by the door on the way out.

You need some rain-x on the dome!
(I have no idea if it will damage the dome so check before using, but it's amazing on car windscreens)
