up the boom??? lasers have goosenecks.

or taped to the front of the mast - but that always falls off

in a bag - where do you put the bag, 1metre back in the cockpit???

i just cant see how it would be easier personally - guess thats why they changed back

.......and there's always the "broken rig", seen more often than the M rig so it must qualify as an official rig.

Halyard stowage is easy. Either have a dod of elastic round the mast to tuck it under (like wot I have on the Finn), or use a continuous fella....

i find with the 300 that its easiest to coil it fairly tightly and shove it up the boom.

that contender breakage looks painful, what with the whole top of the sail ripping off. doesnt look particularly windy either.

Bank Holiday in May. It was a steady force 6 at the time with big waves. The photo shows the rescue boat crew getting the boat back to the beach after the helm turtled and dug the mast in at the bottom of the sea. The worse thing for the guy in the pic was that piece of aluminium dangling over his head. Not reassuring when you don't know what it's attached to!

There were at whole string of broken topaz rigs at sunsail.

Another great Topper design screwup meant they had selected the wrong material for the rivets. The result? Topaz masts breaking in F1 and F2! There was a huge pile of top sections on the beach.

halyard used to go in a pocket on the side of the sail at the bottom of the luff.
