Annual fee were a mere £8,000? Just to play golf? is there a pensioner discount? If I do two work parties (hiding in the bushes avoiding the eye of the Commodore) for which we get discount, less my pensioners discount then my fees are £100 per year. I think we have scrapped the joining fee, "debenture"? But we do have a £20 key deposit.

I wonder if it would make me any happier to be able to afford £125,000? To play golf? I doubt it somehow.

don't forget tick that you'd need to lay out the best part of a grand for an average set of Ping golf bats as well. Ramps up the cost a bit. Now though I guess that wouldn't matter too much to someone who could afford £125k

Its a little unfair!  Wentworth is hardly your run of the mill golf club is it!  A set of top end golf sticks is considerably cheaper than your 25 year old Laser.  Playing normal local level golf is still good value as a sport, its also allot more accessible than sailing.  Not to mention massively more popular.  Its not really a great comparison!

By the way im not a member of a golf club!
