I have also posted this in Beginner Questions.
I am in the process of purchasing a Miracle ( Sail no 2612). It is still rigged at the moment but the present owner will store it for me over the winter and I am sure I will forget the basics by the time I get to use it myself.
I haven't sailed for years and the gear seems different to as I remember it. So I am trying ( in vain) to find a rigging guide or any other instructions online. I have tried the various Miracle sites without luck. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi,

If it is still rigged then go and take a load of photos, close ups of anything you are likely to forget or mis remember.....can you do this?

Things like the actual position of the lower eye of the shrouds on the adjusters "was it the third hole or the 4th........?" Smile

As Riv said, get the current owner to take some pics, the standing rigging is pretty intuitive (and standard) but the spinnaker halyard routing could be confusing if you havent been near boats for a while. When I last looked there were some setting up guides on the class association website. Also bob over the the facebook page (Miracle sailing dinghy owners group) and post the question there

Welcome to the class by the way

Thanks Sawman I doubt that I will be using a spinnaker and that was the confusing stuff. This will merely a pottering boat no windy stuff for me and the very novice crew.

And don't forget smartphone video. Clips of the owner rigging the kite or whatever come with sound and thus explanation of what's going on.
