There is no icebreaker series, because they won't pay the insurance.

Or perhaps can't, it may be cost prohibitive as they are not RYA affiliated or maybe they are being treated as a commercial centre rather than as a club by their insurers.

If the organisation is likely to be 'ad-hoc' as with the other racing I am not sure how many takers they would get anyway.

Oh well, good luck to it, if there were demand from the market for a 'club' then I guess the one that was formerly wouldn't have folded

This is a commercial con, trying to continue to act within the covenant that says the place must be used for sailing. It needs boycotting imv.

Ask what's happened to the icebreaker series.

I believe the icebreaker series was being organised by Bewl Valley Sailing Club.

Insurance is in place.

The water is there to be sailed on

Very astute of you simon, it's a pity your paymasters drove them off the water isn't it ? As for any of us using your facilities that's unlikely to happen without insurance and race organisation, and anyway posting here without a name facelessly promoting a lost cause is just wasting effort. The water is there to sail on and should be sailed on, used by a proper club, not a handy feature in a retirement park.

Now why don't you either tell us who you are or do one.

Could Simon be Simon Hume-Kendall?

Sometimes I am sceptical of posts from those who do not to reveal their identity. If a new, anonymous poster arrives suddenly and submits lots of posts on one particular topic, that provokes particular suspicion.

And I recall giving my email address to Bewl Valley Sailing Club - not this company....little bit naughty cold calling me.  That's the world we live in tho.  Suffice to say I won't be commuting from the S Coast to sail!

Can't imagine it. Senior executives generally have minions to do the astroturfing and spamming. But its just as likely to be some office junior doing it off his own bat.
